This Simple 2-Ingredient DIY Rose Facial Steam Recipe Will Make Your Skin Glow Like Crazy

I hope you’ve all been enjoying the early introduction to Spring we seem to be having, with prolonged showers and warmer temperatures. It’s hard to believe that temperatures were well below freezing just a few weeks ago but I’m not complaining. However, changes in the weather definitely impacts our skin and it can be difficult to know how to change up your skincare routine to keep it seasonally appropriate. Today, I want to discuss facial steaming, which is perfect for this time of year, and how it can help decongest your skin and increase circulation to make your skin glow like crazy.

The best part about my DIY Rose Facial Steam recipe I’ll be sharing with you is that it requires just two ingredients! Traditionally, steam is an essential tool utilized by estheticians to open up clients’ pores and prepare the skin for extractions and to better absorb products. However, it’s also an amazing at-home treatment you can preform on yourself to help with a variety of skin issues. Because steam helps to soften the outermost layer of the skin, making it easier for your skin to naturally release dirt and oil that would normally be trapped beneath the surface, it’s amazing for oily and acne-prone skin. The temperature of the steam also helps to increase circulation, which as I’ve discussed in the past, is the key to glowing skin. Additionally, when your pores dilate, they are able to absorb products you apply to the skin more efficiently, rather than products just sitting on the surface of the skin. Although there are benefits from steaming your face with water on its own, as well as with a variety of other herbs, I chose to use organic rose petals in this steam recipe. The soothing and calming properties of roses make this recipe universal for all skin types. The flower of love also provides the skin with anti-aging and anti-inflammatory benefits that can help to keep fine lines and redness at bay. Roses are also known to have mood enhancing benefits and help relax your while promoting emotional well-being. Inhaling the aroma of roses while you steam your face helps to boost your mood and give you a generous dose of aromatherapy. Here is my recipe for a Rose Facial Steam:

To begin the ritual, prepare the skin by cleansing with my Vitamin C Cleanser in order to remove any impurities from the skin’s surface. This amazing cleanser was designed to brighten, reduce skin inflammation and balance oil production with a holistic blend of tangerine, alfalfa, borage, parsley and aloe, while the gentle low-lather formula creates tiny microbubbles to break down makeup and dirt. I recommend following the steam with an application of my best-selling Black Currant Serum, which the skin will drink up with ease, allowing a calm, healthy and glowing complexion to emerge.

For those of you looking for a way to prolong the benefits of facial steaming, I suggest gently misting your face with my Rose Toner throughout the day. Steeped in a concentrate of Bulgarian and French rose petals, this mist is packed with nutrients and antioxidants. Experience the divine scent of a lush rose garden, while rose oils and hyaluronic acid plump up fine lines, while introducing intense hydration, boosting elasticity and restoring “bounce” to skin.
